Lumpy idle GT tdi 140
« on: May 14, 2017, 03:42:30 pm »
Anyone else's GT tdi 140 car shake on idle? I've had 3 of these mk5s now and the last 2 have been the same? What causes the lumpiness and the whole car to shake? It drives me nuts!

Could be the EGR/ASV at the intake that are clogged up. Smoothed out the idle on my GT TDI 170 when I cleaned them out.

Is it worse when it's hot or cold or just the same all the time?

Chris
It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Most pd140's didn't come with a DPF but it is possible depending on its age.

Could try some injector cleaner additive in the next tank of fuel and see if that helps it clear up a bit.

When did it last have a service?
