Also getting the following fault codes:

P0441 - Powertrain: Evaporative Emmission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow

I believe P0441 is to do with the carbon canister and the hoses around there/N85 Valve so I'll look at that one.

I got rid of the P0441 by not doing full tank refuels. Just do the "full" refuel without 5-7 litres. I saw people changing their fuel tanks and even after that the P0441 still reappeared from time to time.

The xenon's make them look loads tidier on the front end.  Much prefer them.

Think I'm going to look for an RNS510 soon.  Miss having handsfree and the Bluetooth on this thing is patchy as f*ck.  My phone constantly pairs and unpairs every few seconds.

Apologies if it doesn't make sense in places but this is copied from another forum.

So my private plate could go on today so stuck that on when I got home after an early finish.

Just took it up to Drury Lane to get the alignment done as it's been out since I got it.  Haven't finished yet but they've just let me underneath to give it a quick look over.

First up, through the front under tray you can see the IC hose is not sealed properly, so that's going to need sorting this weekend.

Next there has been a slight blow in the exhaust too so had a nosey at that.

That's just soot btw not a hole.

Underneath is very clean actually.  Was very impressed with it, even the jacking points are spot on

Gives me a few things to look at this weekend anyway!

Before and after of the alignment

Rear right was really seized and that's as close as they could get it realistically.

Also got home to find these have turned up.

Look forward to getting the sh*tty carbon ones off!

So the weather is wet and cold so didn't fancy getting under the car today.

I did however get my OSIR paddles fitted.

Pretty straight forward.  First up obviously disconnect the battery.

Turn the wheel 90 degrees and unclip one side of the airbag, then 180 degrees the other way and do the other side.

Unscrew the blanks and disconnect the paddle from the housing for the blanks or MFSW buttons (which I'll hopefully have a set of soon)

Then there's one more screw holding the paddle assembly in and then off they come threading the cable through the small hole in the wheel.

I then took the paddle extensions off the originals.  Looks like silicone was used here.

Then slide the pin on the hinge out by lifting the tab in the middle and using a small screwdriver to push the pin out so you can separate the paddle from the unit.

Remove the spring as you place that into the new paddle.

Then put the parts back together with the pin

Back into the steering wheel and reassemble.

Miles better.

Quick comparison of the standard paddle vs the paddle extensions for anyone who wants to take that route.

Far too big for my liking as they sit too close to the wheel.  Bigger ones usually sit further away so not to interfere with your hands when driving.

Very happy with the new ones though.  Feel really premium.

Love the OSIR paddles but I couldn't justify spending that much on them. Maybe one day when I win the lottery!

Got them on eBay for £80 from someone on here who had them up for £90.

Love a bargain

Best I could do is find the trader's ad again. He uses that plate for various cars he sells (though he says "my car" in all of his ads and they're relatively spaced out, so could have actually been owning them...)

https://www.google.co.uk/#safe=off&q=mk5+golf+gti+schmidt_vr6

He's on here too, but no mention of the ed30 you've bought it seems. I can't find any posts about the car with the original plate.

Did you do a vehicle lookup before you bought the car? Most supply records of plate transfers.

Yeah he's deffo a trader as the logbook wasn't in his name and the traders section was missing.

I also couldn't put my private plate on using the online form as it was previously owned by a trader.

I'll keep digging!  Cheers.
