Engine misfire
« on: January 25, 2010, 10:30:45 pm »
I have a early 2006 GTI and it has a misfire when cold. The misfire dissapears when engine reaches above 70c/normal running temprature.

Engine management light does not come on.

Dealer could not find any fault logged.

Misfire only appears on cold winter days.

Any suggestions as to fault.

i think the 1st thing to do is get the car on Vcds when its cold and log the missfires then swap the coil packs around and see if the missfire follows to the other cylinders,  then if that dont work try the same with the plugs.   :happy2:
