Tiguan/cayanne calipers... brackets needed?
« on: November 10, 2016, 11:12:16 pm »
Just had my new calipers turn up and they look really big but they only came with the bolts like in this link:

http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalog/front-caliper-bolt-kit-porsche-cayenne-brembo-piston-p-467.html?osCsid=1ede1644950e51d3963aa8ba08956a91

Anyone else run this setup and can confirm that's all I need to mount? I have spigot rings too and lines just confused to why no brackets are needed.

Pic from Internet for reference

No brackets although I prefer the fitting kit from epytec.de. I had the bolts and changed to Epytec's kit as you can see in my project.

It's a more solid kit. Just check the build thread, I think the pictures are self-explaining.

In the derv build or ed30? As the ed30 has about 30 pages lol. When did you roughly fit them as will help me Barrow it down.

Nah I got the bolts which look like a 1mm tube on them, maybe to cater for the larger hole on one end.
And yes they are 4pots. Not too heavy either too so maybe aluminium?

Just coming from smaller 4 pot porsche brembos with brackets I was just checking if I had all needed for the swap when I do it in a week or so.

I know you don't get as good pedal feel as oem, but how do you find them?

My current 4 pots use a 312mm disc and wanted slightly bigger.

havent fitted them yet, I've been lazy.

I hear the pedal feel isnt a problem if they brake system(incuding ABS) is bled correctly.

Was contemplating getting the nqsbbk but then thought i may as well go bigger incase they wasnt sufficient enough.
330mm should be better but cant really tell until I get them fitted.

What pads are you going with? They cost a bomb :)

The derv has R32 front brakes. It's here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,95592.msg1054687.html#msg1054687

The bolts and nuts work but I preferred to get something that's more solid. Also, those calipers are aluminium, so they're light. Just the bigger brake discs are heavier. :happy2:

Just the pads that came with the kit. Not had a look at brand yet. The discs are zimmerman
