Has anyone used stealth racing in Southam for remapping?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has used stealth racing in Southam for remapping? If so how was it? I'm deciding weather to go there or book in at r tech, there both about 30 Mins away from me. I've got a standard gti 2007 dsg

Stealth are good. Lots and lots of experience doing vrt builds, turbo conversions and the like. Guy called Vince.

Whether his mapping is quite as good as Niki's at R-Tech I couldn't say, but if you did go to Stealth you certainly wouldn't be dealing with cowboys.

I used them when I had my 1.8t - had a good rep on ukmkivs.net, so glad to hear they're still on the scene. Mine was just a Revo map, but they were very efficient and did a great job on fitting the Samco tip I wanted at the same time.

As said before - think they are quite the specialist when it comes to the VR6. They have their own dyno, so again, counts in their favour.

Nice choice you have to make! I guess R-tech are more specialised to the TFSI engine maybe? Not sure if Stealth do the number of different modes that R-tech offer?

Yeah it is a good choice, I think I will go with r tech as they seem to have the best reviews and like you said specialise in tfsi engine.

My Edition 30 was mapped by Stealth last year and zero complaints and fast as f'ck!

I've known Stealth Racing for 16 years and Niki and Vince both speak highly of each other, so you can't go wrong at either place to be honest.

Stealth are more old school and have done a lot of incredible work over the years, but they don't actively advertise, it's all word of mouth and repeat business from loyal customers, so not many people know about them.  The people that do, keep going back there for good reason

Trust me, what Vince doesn't know about mapping VW engines isn't worth knowing 

He's helped out so many other tuners over the years you wouldn't believe it.

The R32 is a funny lump.  Not easy to get more power from, but comes mostly from revs (increased rpm limit). 

I remember a MK2 Golf they had in for mapping, which had a MK5 R32 lump in it with Schrick cams and an intake. Nothing special, but they pulled nearly 300hp out of it.  Which is amazing for an R32!

The most I'd seen prior to that from the same mods was around 280 tops.

Yeah it's more about smooth the mid range torque outwardwill also get the dsg mapped

Im considering Stealth Racing for my stage 2+ GTI. Less waiting time. However, total price including DSG remap not much difference to RTech.

Not used them for mapping, but have used them loads over the last 10 years - general maintenance and repairs.  Never had a problem with them, very knowledgeable on all things VAG. With my experience of them, if I was having a remap I'd probably go to them.

They mapped all of my modded VWs from years back (MK2 16V Turbo, Supercharged and Turboed VR6s, R32s etc) so they were the go to guys for my ED30.  They've been mapping since the 1990s and all levels of crazy engine specs, including 1000hp R32 Turbos.  I would put them in the top 5 in the country for expertise and results, but they're not instabook nation like RTech are, so don't get as much publicity.

Their stage 1ish map immediately killed my clutch and revealed a HPFP deficiency.  Once those were sorted, it was fast as hell.  Easily keeping pace with AMG A45s, Golf Rs, new shape S3s, BMW 335is etc.   After I fitted a 3" downpipe and intake, I went back up for some more dyno fun and they extracted 400lbft out of it without too much trouble.  I would say Stealth aren't about pub figures, but more repeatable, reliable power......but if you want the engine strung out to the max, they can cater for that as well.
