Alloy wheel advice
« on: January 24, 2010, 09:22:11 pm »
Hi guys, new to this forum.

I currently have a set of the 18" R32 alloy wheels on my Golf. I purchased the car about 2 weeks ago and the wheels came on the car. Is there an easy way to tell if they are genuine R32 wheels and not cheap repo's? I have a quick look and they have made in Italy stamped on the inside.

Secondly i'd like to swap/px these wheels with a set of 17" standard Monza wheels. I know alot of you folks have upgraded your wheels and wondered if there are any spare sets lying in your garage somewhere!? i'm after a set in as close to A1 condition as possible and with tyres. Likewise if anyone has a set they just wanna sell rather than p/x can you let me know.

Ta

Sounds like they are reps. Genuine VW wheels will have a VW stamp along with a VW part number (1J0...). Genuine wheels are 7.5" wide and most reps are 8" so this is another way to tell.

I have a set of 17'S that will be up for sale in two weeks with excellent Conti Tyres. One minor mark.

Where are you based?

Gti Jal sounds great and just what I'm after. Do you have a price in mind? I am in Edinburgh but can arrange couries etc.

Very cherry: i will have a look at the wheels tonight and confirm if they are indeed reps and the details. I will also take so pics.

My email address is M_Legge@hotmail.co.uk if you both prefer to discuss things via email

Why not go for the 18's Monza II's? I think Red Robin has a genuine set for sale.

.... :drinking: Cheers, buddy.

They're not with tyres though. I'd rather sell my genuine Monza 17's - Also not with tyres:
