Best place to buy parts
« on: August 13, 2016, 12:59:08 am »
Hi all,

I've never really done much to cars before, so not sure where to go to get bits.

I bought an armrest from eBay and I think the only thing I'll need is the air duct that goes from the front to the armrest, part 5M0819633 I think.

Any suggestions for where is best to go to? Online stores, vw dealer, local indie vw garage, breakers yards etc etc.

Cheers! Mike

For new parts find your local TPS which is basically a large VW dealer parts department. Some I'll say you have to be trade to buy from them but if you phone them and order the part and say it's for a cash sale they won't turn you away

Cheers, I'll take a look at this. Fitted the armrest minus air ducting easily but I gather the ducting is a bit of a faff. Will do it though and look at somehow putting a 12v or sub charger in along with the aux in.

@Mike_J_Smith Did you end up sorting out the duct for the rear armrest vent?  If so, was it just the part you mentioned above that was required? Cheers, Pete.

Hi, sorry for not replying sooner. I got the part and as far as I can tell, it's all you need. I got some screws too at the same time just in case. My armrest came with another piece of ducting to do the routing to the actual vents, the piece I bought just takes air to the armrest. I haven't actually fitted it yet though.
