Rust free disc?

Needed new front brakes, was going to go with EDC redstuff but on advice from friends looked at brembo mainly wanted coated disc that would not corrode like the rears I did last year (pagid) so I was happy to find that brembo discs are UV coated so win win, I'm yet to fit these but will update when I'm up and running. I went with brembo pads to so interested to hear anyone's experience with either the disc or pads and I don't track the car so just "spirited" road use and if these will be adequate. I would like to try a track day some time and was thinking I could fit more meaty pads later? Something like redstuffs? So advice on OEM plus pads would be good

I am yet to find a set of discs that dont go rusty on the hubs or outer edge. I fitted some painted Mtec discs that seemed to be coated really well, but these have still gone rusty within 6 months or so

Interested to see how you get on with the Brembos :happy2:

I fitted padgid discs to mine 2 years ago and they haven't rusted yet

just paint the parts of the disc that dont make contact with the pads

No rust on uncoated steel? Even the centre hub "bell"? Do you keep it in a garage? I'm surprised to say the least.

Dronners, the point is not to have to hammerite the non contact surfaces, EBC, brembo, and Mtec all make products that are supposed to do it for you the question is do any of them work?

Pretty sure pagid discs are coated grey like the OEM ones.

The padgid discs are coated mate obviously but part the pads goes over gets a bit of surface rust after washing the car but nothing a bit of breaking doesn't clear

Well I have pagid discs on the back and they rusted on the hub and on the lip massively after a few months at best any coating that was put on was not very good IMHO let's hope Brembo are a bit better.

I'm running brembo discs all round with brembo pads front and pagiid rear.  Braking is excellent. No rust at all on hub areas of discs,  slight rust on the outer ventilated edges.

My brother is ordering some rust preventative discs for his Porsche 911 I'll get the brand name.
Meyle-platinum brake discs have a special coating on them to prevent rust.

I've had OEM rear discs on for over a year now and they're still bright grey, like new.

I've got the painted brembo disks and pads all round, braking performance is excellent, and they've been on now 4 months, no sign of any rust.
