Cheap TTE420 on Awesome's site
« on: November 25, 2016, 05:20:16 pm »
Just seen this https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-car/audi/a3-8p/the-turbo-engineers-tte420-hybrid-ko4-turbo-charger/

I don't know if that's their Black Friday price, but at £280 cheaper than it was yesterday, I've just bought one!

Happy Christmas Eddy

Lol, too late as I already bought it    I've been peeking at the TT420 for a couple of years now, so that was just an impulse buy when I saw it.  Cheers for the offer though  :happy2:

Just to clear up some confusion......by default, do TTE supply these based on brand new Borg Warner turbos, or from used cores?   Their sales blurb certainly suggests the former, but I've seen Simon post on various forums 2 prices - 2500 euros for a new unit, and 1600 ish euro for a rebuilt s/hand unit.  I'm just wary of paying for a brand new unit and being pedaled a used one, that's all

Sweet   You're already running one from what I gather?  Are you loving it so far?  Living the turbo dream?

Cheers mate, and will do!

Believe it or not, I will be running it with the standard air box and cat back

I know that sounds like a waste but peak numbers don't motivate me, it's more the fatter power band I'm after and a turbo that can make the same power as a strung out K04, but at a more relaxed boost pressure, so probs aim for about 360-370hp

The exchange process is basically hand in your unit and they give you a fully reconditioned turbo back in return, the more expensive price is a brand new unit.

I am indeed  :driver: :driver:  It's an amazing bit of kit. I should have posted in the other thread, but i got side tracked.

I was running ko4 2+ for 3 years before the switch, same hardware, bar the extra fueling bits needed and it's a completely different car, mid range pull is just insane  :rolleye:

You won't be disappointed  :happy2:

I've not raced a stage 2+ ko4, i don't need to, from my own experience, and i'm no willy waver, there's no comparison and there's no "just pulling away" even when rolling, my new car would eat my old one
