Opened drivers door, as this prime pump and then turned key few times as well. Car started normally, no chokes etc

Yeah... did not had much life left me think  
Any ideas as to why this pattern is not normal in your opinion?

The follower should rotate as it runs on the cam, the cam profile isn't flat so it causes the follower to rotate. The wear pattern should be circular on the follower. Something wrong with yours, either the cam is damaged or the follower couldn't rotate for some reason. Very odd
