Snapped HPFP Bolt
« on: November 27, 2016, 11:13:57 am »
Hi All,

Long time lurker, great site. I have been meaning to sign up for some time but never found the time until today when I shamelessly need some expert advice.

So yesterday evening I was driving home when all of a sudden my Ed30 started driving like a bag of spanners so immediately pulled over and popped the bonnet. Even under the plastic engine cover the issue was glaringly obvious the HPFP had come lose  :scared: Anyway being dark and not to far from home I locked up and trekked home.

Went back this morning tools and spare bolts in hand to discover 2 of the bolts still losely  attached to the HPFP and one missing. No problem I though feeling smug as I had spare bolts, stripped every thing of to get to the HPFP off only to realise one of the bolts had actually snapped off with the remainder still firmly in the casing :surprised:

So tightened up the remaining 2 and limped her the remaining half mile home.

Now I am stuck with how the hell do I get the remains of the bolt out ??

Google bolt extraction. There are several ways of getting bolts out.
