Wing mirror switch possible fault
« on: November 27, 2016, 04:23:30 pm »
Hi guys not often I post up an issue but here's one.

My Chinese wing mirror controller seems to now want to control both mirrors from the right hand side although the left controls it's own side?. Could the switch be faulty? has anyone had an issue like this before?. I'll fit my old switch in to check if that works okay and report back.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that's normal. Same on mk4s iirc.

Can't you adjust it to operate single mirrors from the highline display menu or vcds mate

This is the default setting I believe, as said I think you can turn it off in the high/midline settings.

never did this before I assure you

i have a high line clock but never knew it could be set from that as I don't have a multi function steering wheel. I'll give Vcds a shot but I haven't changed any setting in a good while and only fitted these switches 2months ago and they worked fine up until this afternoon.

never knew these has a default setting TBH but knownit can be set in vagcom.

Thanks guys

U can get into the menu by using the buttons on the side of the indicator stalk mate, think you hold the up or down button while stationary

will try this thanks as I didn't know as mine was originally a midline clock. Still don't understand why it changed all of a sudden.

Solved the mystery of the weird switch problem.

I changed the setting in early 2016 and some how it's only just registered the program  so on vagcom last night and unchecked synchronise mirrors and hay presto
Will need to reset it all when I fit my new power folding puddle light ones on.
