Interior Mat Clips
« on: December 06, 2016, 08:55:27 pm »
Ive bought some GTI mats however they are the same fittings as my current rubber mats (in terms of the whole where the mat clips onto the thing on the floor)

is there anyway i can remove this from the floor and which part do i need so that these mats fit properly and not move around

Have you tried unscrewing them.  The 1st pic are the same as mine and can be unscrewed, replaced   I replaced them on previous golf

I think the fittings are removable from the mat, you can then replace with the circle ones...
Pretty sure I saw them on eBay while back...

I had to do this not so long ago.

The plastic clips split into two - they just clamp together with the mat sandwiched in between. you might need something flat (like a butter knife) to help prise the clips apart. I think i had more trouble pressing the new clips together as they need a fair bit of force!

Hope this helps.
