Did he pay by gift? In that case youre laughing. You could tell him to go whistle.... or.....
I'd tell him that if he insists on returning it then upon receipt you'll have the damage inspected by a turbo re-manufacturer and have them produce a report. If the damage is found to be from tampering rather than impact damage then you will not be refunding and will invoice the seller for the full cost of inspection and pursue via small claims if necessary. Advise him that you can visually see the orientation/clock of the core has been altered and strongly suspect the damage has been caused by overtightening of the bolt directly in the centre of the damaged area
In the mean time I'd price up an inspection and written report and be prepared to do this. It will be a lot cheaper than what you sold the K04 for.
In future, TRUST NO-ONE!! Always cover your arse with proof of delivery, paypal goods (as a buyer), insured courier etc.
Thank you Dan, yes he paid as gift but I'm not the type to go and tell him to whistle as in my eyes it's wrong even though people do it with me
I will send him a message today once I've got a turbo recon specialist to give me a price on what it will cost and everything else you mentioned as it's not right what people do for sure.
You're right there when you say TRUST KNOW ONE and I've been told numerous times but I never learn
hopefully this will be the last time I do something stupid like this causing more headache for myself and really appreciate your advice Dan
Will let you know what he replies with. Dodgy ford stealer staff
Thanks
