I'm back with a Black Edition 30 5 Door
« on: December 23, 2016, 04:27:14 pm »
Hello Guys,

Bought another edition 30, the idea that its going to be my daily car too and from work being DSG, with another car as my modified fun car. That wont last as I already have induction kit, intercooler and suspension on the way. Not really happy with the car currently, was delivered from the garage in abit of a state. Issue with manifold and intake, trashed rear tyres, trashed brake discs and dents all over the car. Working with the garage they are going to sort the manifold issue and contribute to the tyres and brakes. I hate the yellow fog lights, hoping its just a film I can take off. In the end I had to settle for this ed30 as there seems to be always under 10 for sale int he country and the majority are heavily modified or are dodgy. The super clean low mileage ones come at way too high of a price to a 10 year old car. I have bunch of asthetic things ready to go on the car, will look much better in a couple of weeks. Already booked in to sort the dents out. Its completly standard atm.

Not my first golf, I've owned a couple Mk5s and seem to keep coming back to them.

R tech Stage 2 Edition 30 (Bought it standard):

R32:

Had a couple audis too:

475bhp S4:

350bhp S3:

Stay tuned will be alot of progress at first. My style is very OEM. I like the car looking clean and abit of a sleeper.

Welcome back!

Apologies for the following but...

Settle? Why pay hard earned cash and settle for a below average car which is riddled with faults?

I am presuming by your comment you did not view the car before buying it with regards to your comments about the condition of the car? If so and the car was just delivered to you in such a state you have every right to reject it if it was not described accurately by the Dealer you purchased it off!

There are always around 30+ Golf Edition 30's on Autotrader, Yes good examples command a premium but there are plenty out there that are in reasonable condition and certainly not riddled with faults!

He got it off Revitup, I'd send it back and ask for money back.

Sorry for taking the thread off-topic, Obviously it is up to the OP what he wants to do with the car but....

I had dealings with Revitup (Mark Longstaff) earlier this Year with a warranty issue on a Civic Type R that I purchased, After a Month and countless messages I was finally offered a "Contribution" towards the repairs but only after I threatened to name and shame him and his company.

He has got too big for his boots and sadly customer service is not his best attribute.

I am actually banned off his Facebook page and cannot post or like any posts anymore, Pathetic!

Thanks for the concern guys. Mark has been fair to me so far and is determined to resolve any issues with the car when they are back from their Christmas break. I'm keen to give him a chance first before jumping to demanding a refund as his customer service has been very good so far and has done nothing but reassure me that they'll get the issues sorted. This obviously doesn't redeem the fact the car was not as described over the phone nor was it inspected to a half decent standard before being delivered.

As for 30+ being for sale on autotrader. Filter on 5 doors, DSG and the full spec I want you are looking at 1-3 if you are lucky.

Hopefully you get all the issues resolved as I was fobbed off repeatably and it dragged on for what seemed like a lifetime, I was told that I would be getting a BAC's transfer the following morning and it took another 3 Weeks! Mark actually went on holiday during that time too and I was told by a very unhelpful colleague of his that he was the only person that could deal with the issue. As this was all going on the 90 Day Warranty was getting closer!

As said in the end I gave him a deadline and a lengthy Email stating my dis-satisfaction towards his company, Also that I would not hesitate to Copy and Paste every message between myself and him on every Car Owners Club I am a member of!

He payed up that day, Then I was banned from his Facebook page.

Incidentally the chap I sold the Civic Type R to actually wanted to buy the car before I did but because it was Revitup that was selling it he refused to deal with them due to a previous issue which he didn't disclose with me.

Understand what you are saying with regards to being limited when you want a particular Spec on an ED30 but I would have asked for my money back and would just be patient for the right example to come up, I viewed 6 ED30's before buying my last one.

I would not normally get involved with a post like this or by naming a garage but I have heard of quite a few instances including my own where people have been taken advantage off by this dealership. He does have a good reputation on paper and that is why I dealt with him but I wouldn't ever go again!

I can understand your frustration, I personally hate buying second hand cars now from having no end of issues with every garage I think I've ever dealt with. I've bought about 5 cars from different dealers and the only one that wasn't f*cked was my first edition 30. Maybe I'm just bad at buying the right cars. Never the less I'll keep you posted, Revitup have agreed to sort the main issues but are taking their sweet time about it, the Christmas break doesn't help. I'll be on them on the day of their return hopefully this can all get sorted asap.

Welcome back.

Hey buddy :) Yeah all gone now mate the new owner loves it.

The garage I purchased the car from sorted the majority of the issues. They replaced the manifold which was the main cause of the mechanical issues. Also sent me 4 new tyres complete set of brakes and pads, with a contribution from me ofcourse...

Anyway the car just come back from having the front wings replaced:

Complete with Dent in the door and scratch on the roof...

They checked their pre collection video of the car and owned up the the damage and are picking it up monday to resolve. Not ideal but atleast they are taking action. Was easy to spot considering I had every dent removed from the car the day before they collected it.

Got my plaque from VW:

Private Plate on:

Battery is on its way out. Still the standard one from factory. Got a new one on the way anyway. My garage is filled with bits for the car, hopefully I'll have a chance to fit some of them at some point... Here the list:

Lowering Springs
Induction Kit + Heatsheild
Intercooler
Sidelights
Parking Lights
Interior Lights
Number Plate Lights
De-Wiper
Brake Discs
Brake Pads
Anti Lift Kit
Bushes
Rtech PCV delete
ECS Dog bone Mount insert
15mm spacers (bolts included) on rear
4 Tyres
Centre caps
Diverter Valve Mod
turbo discharge pipe
Fog Covers
Battery

Haha thats the idea, love having a private plate. Its my uncles ST I'm looking after it for a few months, decent car and LOUD.

Was the Marshall paint and body place, took them a few goes to get it right, but i didn't pay a penny so can't complain.
