Updated Canbus Fitted, Few minor problems
« on: January 01, 2017, 08:53:48 pm »
Fitted an updated Canbus today, a 2011 model from GTI Richard on the forum. Also fitted a Polar Fis+ too. The Fis is working well, but after going for a 15 mile drive I've noticed a few small issues.
I did disconnect the battery so not sure if that might have something to do with it or not. Hoping someone can confirm?

Rear Screen demists, but took 9 miles to do the whole screen and usually it is very quick. Seemed to start well and they hit a brick wall and stop almost.
Front Electric Windows seem to have a mind of their own.
Can't get rid of Can Gateway error on Vagcom, even though I have checked and double checked the Installation List and Coding. I have just put in an aftermarket radio though so could this be the problem?

Thanks

I was having similar issues so just put the original CAN Gateway back in.   I only tried a newer one because everyone said you need it for an RNS510 to stop battery drain issues, but it's not true.  Why did you need a newer gateway?

Same here.

It came with a radio that I was going to fit so thought I might as well.

Pretty sure I'm there now though as the only fault is the Telematics box and I've just put in a Polar Fis.

Horrendous job in a Manual car though. The clutch pedal couldn't be more in the way if it tried.
