New to the forum and purchased my mk5 gti within the last year. Looking to do some upgrades to the exterior once I'm confident with the car mechanically. Runs very smooth, just had a lube service at my VW garage and they've advised me to get my cambelt/water pump replaced. They made it clear it needs to be done asap no matter what the mileage is. Ideally I could do with waiting a few months, I won't be covering many miles? (This last year the cars been used regularly, before that it was doing 1k miles a year) Is it worth doing it myself - saving myself paying for 3/4 hours labour?
