Playing video through CMS / dash stripping guide

Folks is there any way to play video through the cms? A couple of people online have mentioned using an MDI cable with red end, but it doesn't seem to have a high success rate and is only 30 pin too.

Secondly, anyone have any guides for removing dash trim? I want to route an iPhone lead up to the vent to the right of the steeeting wheel. It doesn't look as easy to dismantle as a Mk5!

Finally, from what I can read retrofitting discovery Nav is basically a no goer, but has anyone come across anyone upgrading the screen only? Or would you still run in too the same difficulties? I hate the resolution of the cms :(.

I have OBDeleven and there is an adaption to enable this,just noticed it thru an update. However I'm thinking it may be illegal in the UK.
