Hi
Does anyone else on here run a Jap import? Just wondering what differences there are, I've had a jap import Honda before and there were a few interesting differences.

Guy on here called Dee had a jap import and it didn't have an alarm. Worth checking it out if you're going to buy one.

Mines a jap import and it's been mint other than usual GTI maintenance stuff. Nice high spec too. Folding mirrors with puddles, drawers under seats, zennons etc. Only weird thing is that it's DSG but had a plain steering wheel with no flappy paddles so I retrofitted a MFSW and it's been perfect. Hope that helps

How is insurance with imports? Can they be easily insured?

never had any issues with insurance. Warranty is only 2 years from new BIG savings and better spec.

Seems mines a similar spec although I do have paddles. Also have heated door mirrors chequered GTI floor mats. No issues with insurance and a re map of unknown origin?

Also no alarm fitted (are they as standard???) although a little light in the drivers door trim when the remote door lock is applied
