Steering wheel vibration at 120 km/ph
« on: January 09, 2017, 11:21:00 am »
Hey guys,

Have been experiencing a wobble/vibration in the steering wheel only at about 120km/ph, anything around 115km/ph is fine and also around 140km/ph is ok too.

Speed limit is 120 km/ph so would obviously like to have no vibration/wobble in the wheel at this speed? Any thoughts on where to start to diagnose this issue?

Thanks

Normally a sign of bad wheel balancing.  Have you recently rotated the wheels to even out the wear?  Quite common for that to happen when you move the rears to the front.

I haven't moved the fronts to the rears but have been experiencing the vibration since I bought the car a couple months back. Could balancing be an issue, I know the wheels have no weights on them at all. They are replica BBS CH's, also on the car when I bought it.

I would get them balanced then, cheap enough.

If there are no balance weights on the wheels at all, that'll be why then.
