golf gti 30 DSG. revo, quaife lsd
« on: January 27, 2010, 12:37:38 pm »
hi guys, thinking of trading the z4 for a 30 editon dsg.
Whats the best software to go for, superchips or revo?
Revo do a tranmision software aswell. After this does the dsg have faster gear changes.
The main question im asking is being a racing driver im used to paddle shifts, but will the dsg gear downshift instand when the paddle if pressed like a bmw smg gearbox/dkg, or is there a pause then it shifts down.
Also fitted a quaife diff to the dsg gearbox, how much better will the car be at putting power down at the pod.

Revo stg1, cat back? how much have i got to spend to get the gti 30 around 325bhp?

give Mat at vw racing a call 01908210077 if you want a super chips map and they also do the revo dsg map too and to get around 330bhp u need a full turbo back exhaust, stage 2 software, air filter or an intake. u will spend under 2 k i would think or try pick up bits second hand

Mods yes but way too many to stick in this little box

What are you planning on using the car for??

Revo > Superchips thats no question..

As im sure you know, an LSD will only work effectively on corner exit

....Couldn't agree more - Deciding how you want to use your car is the best way to decide which mods.

The LSD is especially helpful on track days but also very valuable when enjoying spirited driving involving roundabouts and bends. It's an expensive mod but often underrated. Even without track days etc I am very happy with my Quaife although Wavetrac have a new one coming to market which sounds interesting.

id agree with that. consider your plans and look into future upgrade routes if you decide that 325hp isnt enough(or when), it'll be cheaper in the long run.

id say go REVO as you can get the adjustability with the SPS switch

yh the lsd will help out of corners but surely it would help the wheel spin off the line at the pod, better traction.
I work at bedford autodrome and brand hatchs as a race instructor so i can have a little blast at the end of the day in the golf to see how well the diff works on track.
coilers- which one u reccomend?
how much is the r32 rear bumper with the r32 style exhaust?
Been looking at the vids on youtube, they are rapid these revo stage 2's, beating m3's all sorts.

If you think about how the diff works, there is your answer..

Stage 2+ K04 will walk on an M3 (E46 and E92) no problem what so ever.. With big turbo, you will struggle to find 'much' that will keep up once your moving!
