I've tried doing this, however the green circuit board in my mk5 key fob is a totally different shape from the mk7 key??
Do I need to swap the circuit boards or is it just a case of putting the transformer from my mk5 key into my new key??

The key on the left is from the mk5, as you can see it's a different shape from the one on the right for the mk7 and won't fit in its place??

Kinda sceptical of these ebay sellers. have you actually had one off them yet?

I'm not sending the key so I'm not that worried. He'll send the shell, I'll swap the internals and then get the key cut. Perfect for me. Best part is with eBay guarantee if it doesn't fit or work, I can just return it.

Fair enough. might give it a try as its only £7. Just need to find someone to code me a spare now!!
