Brake pad suggestions
« on: January 25, 2017, 05:57:17 pm »
Hey everyone,
So my 55 plate MK5 GTI just had its MOT done last week and it passed with just one advisory which I was quite pleased with - considering its over 12 years old now! :drinking:

The 1 advisory was to replace the front brake pads, so with that in mind does anyone have any suggestions based on previous experience?  I was thinking of getting these:

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Matt.

I normally stick with OEM spec Pagid pads myself, however I'll be looking to change to the Hawk Performance HPS after reading some pretty good reviews from GTi owners across the pond.

The advantage the HPS have is slightly more aggressive bite even when cold, and gaining performance the hotter they get.

+1 for Mintex 1144.

Run them with standard discs and good for spirited track days as well as standard road use...and they dont disappear too quickly either.
