If anything, the anti surge wheel is a good idea. The k04 itself should surpass what a bwa/axx can handle anyway, so apart from the anti surge you shouldn't need to upgrade it.

Mines k04'D on a axx engine handling it just fine  it's completely different to drive now and still puts all the power down too

Good man! I spoke to Steve at Statller and he says it's only really aggressive boost and torque past 400lbft that causes problems. It's all in the mapping.

It feels just lovely

That's impressive. Any figures. I was thinking of revo but they are generic and aggressive which wasn't what I was looking for. Custom map all the way. we will have to compare figures when done.

I'm guessing there's a Loba or APR pump in there too! Great figures. Does it feel much laggier than the k03?

It's slightly laggier then k03 but not by much but when the k04 kicks in you know about it I wonder what a tte420 feels like 
To be fair I do want to head up to RTECH to do their magic but I'm happy how it is for now until I get bored and put a CDL lump in and tte420 that ...

TTE420 in a front drive car would be mental.

I reckon you're probably close to the sweet spot with those figures. Past 400bhp would be a handful. But I suppose a diff would help.

The thing I don't want to lose is the quick spool of the k03. But for 350bhp+ I wouldn't mind losing a little bit!

Swapped my rear passengers side door skin which some bar-steward decided to reverse into in a carpark. Took about 30 mins in all.

Purchased a Mk7 GTI PP on Friday.

The mk5 will be for sale soon, will sell most parts separately but will need standard parts plus cash in return unless car sold as a whole.

Will be sad to see it go.

Shame your selling her, just stumbled upon your build. I'm from burton. I picked up a 2007 red gti on Thursday with 142k on the clock. She's got a cobra exhaust I'm told, I think she might be mapped too but can't be sure.
