VW Racing air intake

I had a rush of blood the other day and bought one off another forum as you don't see them up for sale second hand that often.
I was thinking about getting the car modded from stage 1, and buy the parts needed as and when they come along.
Having calmed down and thought it through properly it's going to cost a lot especially if I get a K04 turbo as well, 18" wheels & better brakes..... :thinking:

So pretty sure I'll put it up for sale on here. Pretty sure it can be used with ko3, like you said you just need to blank off

How much are you thinking of putting it up for?

The VWR is the best intake I've seen for these engines by a country mile, apart from it has no flex section to absorb engine movement, which is such an obvious over sight for the huge sum they charge for it.

You can just tell it was designed by someone who knows the engine.  I.e. no massive drain pipes with a randomly sized plant pot filter shoved on the end.

You can have the biggest kitchen sink in the world, but all that water still has to flow through the same size plug hole.

I have the VWR intake on my GTi and it's a heck of a lot louder than the stock GTi and Ed30's I've had previously. It also has a tendency to whine under heavy throttle, though I think that's to do with the way the intake is mounted in my particular setup.

Totally not on topic but just a few notes regardless!

It may be a bit OT but imo, this kind of real world experience & knowledge sharing is invaluable when it comes to parting with nearly £500 for an intake  :happy2:

I believe the Revo is best for power when your maxing out the K04 if your not then they are all very similar just different sound  :smiley:

VWR used these fittings to make the inlet for the KO4 dump hose - http://www.revotec.com/acatalog/Self-Sealing-Fittings-with-Push-On-Tail.html

You could try emailing them to see if they do a blank off?
