ED30 - maintenance @ 75k Miles

Morning folks,

Its just dawned on me that the ED30 will be 10 this year 
Its currently on 71k and will probably get to around 75k when it goes in for its service later this year. Im wondering what perishable parts I should get replaced? The Cambelt/ water pump isn't due for a couple of years, the DSG service was done early at 65k and the inlet valves were cleaned last year at AKS.
Im looking at perhaps getting the various bushes and stuff replaced as i suspect they will be pretty worn by now - I've had the car for 8 years and 40k miles and not had to replace any bushes.
Can anyone list what bushes and other perishable parts i should be looking at getting replaced?

Im going to keep the ED30 for a few more years yet and will be keeping it standard.

Any advice would be most appreciated

Likewise so interested in thoughts.

07 Edition 30 with 61k miles and been with us for last 7 years and 40k miles.

We've only done the regular services, cam belts and discs and pads this far. Last year I did the pcv, cam follower and dv, I think battery will need doing soon.

Last service the garage flagged track rod arm bushes and transverse arm bushes. I think VW change the complete arms but non oe bushes are available separately.

Rich, how bad were your inlet valves? Did the clean make a noticeable difference? May I ask the costs?

i picked my 58 plate pirelli on 73k miles.. turns out it never had a brake fluid change! had only covered 16k miles in last 4 years. one thing i got done which i think was useful was to have the whole underneath of the car steam cleaned and then wax oiled protected...it had a load of sand stuck to the wheel joint areas from being close to the shore in its previous life. not so much nessesary but from my OCD point of view was worth while

It all depends how far you want to go with it. Minimum is a big service with all filters (oil, air, cabin, fuel), plugs.

Extras....

DSG filter and oil.
Brake fluid service.
New coolant.
All suspension bushes.
New Dampers and refresh top mounts.
New engine mounts.



Really depends what you want to do.

i picked my 58 plate pirelli on 73k miles.. turns out it never had a brake fluid change!

My dealer emails me every 2 years / 20K miles when that is due, as do most dealers I think.  Probably previous owners not bothering to get it done?

not sure... it covered 40k miles in its first 2 years and thats the only service receipt i dont have, hope it was done then.. maybe they didnt do ot due to the low milege it was covering. who knows! but its been fitted with upgraded brembo pads and discs all round by a way of an apology to it

From the "Before" photos, they looked quite bad. After the clean, there was a slight improvement in throttle response and perhaps 2-3 MPG - it wasn't a night or day difference. I think it was around £400 - give or take.

I had this done to mine, amazing amount of crud off it. Also feel much happier knowing her bottom has some up to date protection!
Recommend that youu should similarly take out the wing/wheel well  liners and clean out all the crud in there... I plan to do that this spring.
There was a good thread here recently showing great results. Thanks to whomever that was.. I forget, sorry.
