just looking to see if anyone has any experience with these tyres looking into running them daily for the summer but as i live in scotland would be hoping for some decent wet grip also  :driver:

I'm considering running these throughout the summer too as the R888's were pretty scary to drive on coming home through Belgium and France in torrential rain :scared: :driver:

In theory R1R's are a good option but bare in mind that they will be comprehensively out performed by the R888 in every condition other than torrential rain with standing water.. R888's offer huge wet grip, bare in
mind that there basically an intermediate tyre in construction and tread pattern..



Just bite the bullet and do it properly  :wink:

i agree with jonny to a point. but if the R1R is cheaper than the R888 and lasts longer than the R888, and is better than all the current summer tyres then i think they are worth a punt.

are they available in different compounds, and is there any info on the life spann of them yet.

£10 difference per tyre, as in r888 is more expensive.

I think hedge has summed it up pretty well tbh as to why the R1R's exist. Obviously if I had two sets of alloys, I would just mount R888's to one set.

mmmmm not sure what to do altho i've always fancied getting R888s  :driver:

got a month or so before i make my mind up so i'll decide at the time 

so are the R888s good in the wet but not in standing water ?
