PCV Part Numbers?
« on: February 19, 2017, 06:13:35 pm »
I know this kind of question gets asked all the time, however having looked through search results I am now even more baffled.

Lots of part numbers and different set ups for different years of car have been mentioned, but my question is, what parts and what are their part numbers do I need to completely replace the PCV on my 2006 standard GTi?  I am looking to replace this fairly soon.

As always, thank you in advance for your help.   :happy2:

Excellent, thanks for the quick response.  I did notice somewhere a replacement hose was mentioned.  Should I be looking to get this part as well or just the PCV and gasket?

Thanks

Check what revision pcv you have on the car, mine was an N so didn't need the check valve at the rear.
Hoses:
06F103221E
06F103235: that's the only one I changed because it was split, goes from pcv to under intake manifold
Happy to help

Will hopefully get a chance to check my PCV over the next few days, will report back with what revision I currently have and take it from there, thanks.   :happy2:

Just managed to get a look at my PCV in between snow showers.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of markings on the current part.  I can only see 99019 with 25.04.2006 next to it.  To the very left hand side of the part there is a small circular part that states PA6-GF 30 with 2 above it.

If this doesn't help identify what parts I need please let me know and I will try to take a couple of photos and try and upload these.

Thanks

Part number would be on the bottom side, you'll have to take the pcv off to see it.

Being a bit of a newb to the scene, what symptons would
you have to suspect this part was shot? Or is more of a preventative measure?

Thanks @MIJ_JAGGER, had a look at the PCV, it turns out its a revision F I have I think, part number is 06F 129 101F.

When I took it off it had quit a bit of that mayonnaise type build up you sometimes see at the oil filler cap.  The car is used for short journeys so I reckon this may be ok.

Should I just need the R revision PCV and gasket?  I've a Googled the R revision and it looks like it has a hole at the top of it at one of the bits where a hose currently connects.  Do I need anything to attach to this?

Thanks again

Just buy the R revision and a gasket if yours looks in need of replacing. I re used mine as it looked ok.

You don't need anything else unless you have damage to pipework which you shouldn't have.

Yep just the revision r pcv and gasket, nothing else needed. Nothing goes in the hole you speak of
Don't over-tighten the screws, goes without saying I'm sure
