Some help with kufatec loom to heated seat
« on: March 03, 2017, 06:54:17 pm »
Hey folks.
I've got my Mk5 without heated seats..

Planning to buy myself some new used leather seats from a mk6 that is heated. My current leather seats are tired to look at and it's cheaper buying some mk6 ones that getting my old ones reupholstered with new leather - And I'm not sure my current seats has the heating elements build in?

I'm thinking of getting the wiring loom from Kufatec - but should I be buying a mk5 or mk6 loom? Not sure if there's a difference and all...

Anyone did this before me  :signLOL:?

I guess you need to confirm the pin outs on both types of seat to confirm if the wiring will be the same.

If you already have the seats, you could physically compare the big connector under the seats, compare pins, wire colour and thickness and also look for the heated seat control module.

Also, on your current seats, to confirm if they are heated, look for a control module mounted under passenger / drivers seat.

I think mk6 will probably have the same wiring as the later type mk5 seats, which only has one control module under passenger seat, but you should confirm.
