Fuel Flap Switch Swap
« on: February 28, 2017, 07:10:52 pm »
Looking to replace to original fuel flap release switch on my Jetta with a chrome tipped one from a mk6, I can get the trim panel the switch is housed in lifted at the front and side but it will not come right off so I can unclip the old one from it and clip the new one in.

I'm now reading that I must remove the door card completely or at the very least free off the bottom of the door card to get my hand underneath and In behind the door card to release the fuel flap switch as the trim its house in doesn't completely unclip from the door card due to behind riveted or plastic welded to the door card, is this correct? Because the part I can unclip looks like it just clips in, surely if it were plastic welded to the door card itself none of it would unclip at all from any side.

you have to remove the card or at least the bottom part, you've answered your own question.
Loads of extra's and retro fits.
