insert dvd

hi all  after three years of working flawlessly out of nowhere my rns510 is asking me to insert navigation dvd  is there a quick fix for this?
Golf 2006 tdi 140pd, dsg paddles,blue interior led lights,r32 rear bumper, cruise control,vcds,highline , r32 mfsw steering wheel, gti front bumper,miltek decat.

If you leave the dvd in the whole time, the laser can etch it.

Remove the disc and inspect, if it's ruined I'm afraid all you can do is buy a new one.

The RNS-510 can store the maps in the HDD so it doesn't need to have any DVD inserted for the navigation to work.

Sorry for late reply - just to clarify there has never been a cd or DVD in there for navigation it has always been on the hd

Have you tried to copy the latest maps version to see if the radio stores it?

Yes I will try that whenever I get hold of one thanks but I was concerned about how it just disappeared overnight

It's a weird issue, that's for sure. It would indicate some problem with the internal hard drive. If it stores a new maps version, I wouldn't think much of it.
