DIY alloy refurb problem
« on: March 01, 2017, 07:12:21 pm »
Having an issue with my alloys today. Sanded down, filled in kerb damage, primed and then painted today. Results look great for the most part except for one spot on the rim where the primer has bubbled up under the fresh coat of paint and is revealing a horrible yellow patch of bubbled up primer.

Anyone know what's causing this and how to sort it without having the strip all the paint and primer I've just applied?

Cheers

Quite common to get a reaction like that when DIY painting, especially at this time of year when it's cold and a lot of moisture in the air.

All you can do is sand it back and try again unfortunately.  Try U-Pol Acid etch primer.  I find it much hardier than most other primers.
