Quadlock adaptor and antenna adaptor - WHY?
« on: March 14, 2017, 02:38:19 pm »
I'm fitting a RCD330 in my Golf Mk5.

I have with the radio both the quadlock adaptor and antenna adaptor.

Do I actually needs these? what are they for? The radio works without them, I just have a unused antenna cable now??

No idea.....if it works then all good :)
I'd guess the adapters are for fitting for older or non VW cars?

I'd be interested in them if no use :)

For our MK5 Golf's you don't need any of the free cables provided so you can store them away or pass them on. There are some VW cars out there that uses an ISO interface rather than the Quad Lock but these are normally found in other countries in Asia and South America. The aerial adapter is for the MK6 platform onwards, the MK5 antenna would require a different cable from the one provided.

Thing is I can't actually find a adapter for the aerial that will fit. It needs to be 2 male (to take the car leads)  to one (female type to plug into the car radio)

You will need this cable for the MK5, I have this and it works fine with my RCD330 Plus.
