Hi all

Got my GTI a few months ago, standard apart from a revo intake. Already purchased a cam follower just need to fit it. PCV and diverter valve also on the way. Oil and filter also done replaced with 5w40.

Anything else recommended to do before beginning to tune. Decat will probably be first

Cheers

Hello buddy welcome to the forum, the basics you have covered, only other things would be potentially a service if not already had one, decat, intake, possibly exhaust. Stage 1 tune transforms the car, there are plenty of people out there but my recommendation would be R-Tech who really know these engines. Worth the journey for me, I also live in West Sussex but they were fantastic.  :happy2:

Hi mate,

I have done an standard oil and filter change, what else covered in a major service?
Looking at getting a BCS Powervalve decat pipe first. The hopefully on to a stage 2 remap from Rtech with s3 intercooler and uprated HPFP. Then better brakes to stop... The list goes on haha

Hi bud

Yes thats the problem, the list always gets bigger  maybe worth checking oil pick up pipe, plugs and coils. Also depending on history timing belt and water pump and also timing chain and tensioner. if they are good then you are pretty much set. Let me know your thoughts on the powervalve have been looking at these as well?
