Help with part numbers - folding mirror module
« on: March 19, 2017, 04:05:47 pm »
Hi guys

Background is I needed a new window regulator for my drivers side and when this was fitted there were issues with the folding mirrors not working correctly. My mechanic rewired the part so that these now work as they should but the issue I had with the drivers side mirror glass moving upwards when I am pushing 'down' (and vice versa) has never been resolved. It would seem the wrong version of part was fitted but I am clueless as to which version I need as the old module was thrown away after it melted in my door

Please could someone shed some light? It's a 3 door.

Thanks a lot

Ne rev's of window regualtor control modules need different wiring. Pins got to be changed in the plug, can't remember from top of my head but there is a number of manuals on how to do it.

Isn't there something in VCDS that switched that off so the mirrors move correctly?

I remember it happened in my golf and then a friend sorted it in VCDS. Can't remember where though  :ashamed:
