Changing plastic inlet manifold to alloy version
« on: March 21, 2017, 08:54:35 pm »
Hi. I've got a GT TDI BKD engine and I wanted to give the egr and inlet manifold a good clean. I've noticed that it is a plastic manifold so I wanted to know what is involved in changing it for the alloy manifold?

I've got an alloy BKD manifold with part number 03G129713 so it seems like it is a straight swap or is there anything else I need? I'm not 100% sure so if anyone can help guide me that would be great. Thanks.

Don't the alloy inlets impart more heat to the inducted air than the plastic ones?
It seems possible to me although I've no experience or evidence for this...

Gone but not forgotten :-)
