I got a genuine one for £34 (old stock) on eBay. Other dealers are selling them for £80-90 new.

1-1.5 hours to do, depending on how nicely the bolts want to come off.

I think FAG make the OEM ones, have never had many issues with SKF though.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

I should've written that better, it is £238 fitted (using gen parts).

Had a quote from VW themselves, they wanted £359 fitted.

Had another quote with pattern part from VW Specialist for £150 fitted.
3 hrs labour  or £75 ph  :surprised:

I remember the name fag from the 80's that's bearing related  :happy2:

Yeah shouldn't take no more than 2 hours of labour especially with it being on a ramp.

Well it's been sorted, old bearing completely toast, rough... however an old noise that I thought was the wheel bearing progressing is still there... perhaps driveshaft?

Happens around 20-25mph, on load more than off... then completely disappears ... it's been there for about 2 years... no splits in the gaiters, but I have had them replaced a while back so perhaps some ingress.

Anyway, cheers for the input guys. (y)

Which bearing make did you go for in the end?
