I can't remember for the life of me what that wheel line up thingy is called you have sticking out the disc?
Also where did you get it and how much as I want at least 3 as the s3 brakes are tight under the 17s and it would make it easy for me haha

They certainly make it a lot easier and safer when removing and refitting wheels.  :happy2:

Looking forward to seeing the car all put together again  :drinking:

Chris
It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Well managed to get most of my jobs done over the last two days.

Intercooler fitted.
RFD fitted.
EVAP and carbon canister deleted.
RS4 fuel pressure valve fitted.
New coolant.
Aircon regas.
Inlet valves cleaned.

Inlet valves were covered in carbon.

First pass with carbon off. Forgot to take a picture of them all clean.

Inlet manifold all complete ready for fitting.

Car does pop and crackle more on over run than before. Seams to pickup better but just need to sort out getting it mapped now and decide if I go for stage 2 or 2+.

Not a lot has happened with the Golf as sorting out the nest step.

DV+ ready to fit.
Waiting for my autotech hpfp internals
Need to do an oil change and put in my Millers 5W 40

More bhp will be doing my stage 2+ map once I get all the above done. Mike has mapped a number of my cars and always had great results.

Hopefully get it mapped by the end of January. Will have to see if it needs a clutch once done.

Well thanks to a blind old woman my car has sustained a small bit to damage . She decided to make one lane into two and take out my mirror. Only cosmetic but the carbon cover and smoked indicator are trashed. Was very close to taking out the side of my car.

On a plus note I have all the bits now for my stage 2+. Will get my fuel pump internals and DV+ fitted in the new year.

Like the job on the valves. VW have taken a kind of backwards step now and in the process have recognised the problem of direct injection by adding an extra port injector per cylinder to keep the valves clean on their new engines. It'll be on the new 1.5 [yep, you read that right, 1.5] tsi mk 7.5 Golf coming out later this year.

You're Merc was lovely
Navara is super practical. I had one when I lived in Australia. 16 years ago!! I really am getting old :ashamed:

Shame the Merc had a reliable auto box that does not come up malfunction warnings every so often. Will be great getting back in a manual.

Went to the body shop this morning after they text me for my paint code yesterday and the barstewardss were closed. They said they were painting them this morning.

Waited for a dry spell and removed my sill trims.

Got the toffee wheel out to remove the remains of the double sided tape.

All done ready for my painted ones to be fitted.

Almost finished the other side before it started pissing it down.

Got my eBay pre painted wings delivered. Paint job is good and looks a close match. Will see how they fit.

Looking at the weather Sunday will be a washout so should be ok on Monday to get some more done.

Hi
Good job
Do you mind letting me know the seller for the wings as there are a few on there but at least the one you got look ok

Thanks

Wings were from lothianautopartsuk seller on eBay.

Finally got my car mapped by More bhp today. Goes a lot better than it did.

Just need to get the wings painted and blended in to make it look a lot better.

Well not touched the golf for a while as was going to sell it but have decided to keep hold of it for a while and carry on with the mods etc.

MOT was sorted and shocks were a bit tired as the original items. Decided to install a set of AP coilovers as not that bothered about going very low just wanted a little lower than the springs.

Replaced the mondial wheels as they were heavy and wanted something different. Ended up getting a set of bola b5 wheels in 18x8.5 et45 with 225/40/18 uniroyal rainsport 3. Need to roll the front arch's slightly but they fill the arch's a lot better.

Next job is Cambelt and water pump in a couple of weeks then start on the bodywork to get it all one colour and sort out the number of rust spots.
