Daniel's Mk5 GTI - S3 Powered
« on: April 06, 2017, 02:32:29 pm »
Hi folks,

I'm a relatively new member on this forum, and until recently I was driving a Mk4 GTI 150

A good car but the time had come to change.

What do you but after a Mk4 GTI? A Mk5 GTI seemed the obvious choice but it was hard to find one for sale that hadn't been driven within an inch of it's life.
So I was originally hunting to get something newer, like a Mk6 GTI or a FL Octy VRS - but sometimes the right car comes at the right time  :happy2:

So, a brief run down.

I'm the 4th owner from new. All the others owned it 3 years each.
It has a full service history, and was clearly meticulously maintained all its life

Some details on specs...

Engine:
2012 S3 Engine (CDLA), K04 Turbo and S3 Injectors
Forge FMIC
Forge Twintake Induction System
Joe Power 5-mode switchable remap (180-330bhp depending on your mood)
Miltek resonated exhaust

Suspension/Chassis:
Bilstein B12 suspension - now B12 Sportline in current Bilstein range
H&R anti roll bars
Unibrace XB and UB series braces
Whiteline anti lift kit
THS engine, gear box and torque mount FR3 system
Forge short shifter
Powerflex bushes
Quaife LSD

Brakes:
Tarox KMVW0865 10 pot front brake kit with 345x30 R32 disc; trackday pads (pads need to be changed as they squeak like crazy in town)
Team Dynamics 1.2 18 inch in graphite

Interior:
Black Leather, heated
Black roof liner
Highline Clocks
Polar FIS+
Climatronic

Lighting:
OEM Xenons (not factory fitted, I don't have washers)
Valeo LED Rears
LED Number Plate Lights
LED Interior Lights
Cherry Red hazard warning switch & puddle lights

Exterior:
Tornado Red, 5dr
Pretty much standard, bar some red GTI badges (need to replace these, where can I get a decent quality set?)

Photo time! There were roof bars on it when I bought it, they're off now

Nice car and nice mods with it too.

Thanks buddy, there are a lot of stonechips on the bonnet, so need to get that sorted when I get a dent in the wing repaired.

I must say all the mods make for a great car, I test drove a totally standard car the same day.

The suspension is stiffer, but is still more comfortable than my standard Mk4.

There is also a Southbend DXD Stage 3 Daily Clutch & Single Mass Flywheel, it's fine out on the open road, but as I do mostly town driving it's a bit of a pain as it's quite heavy.

Will probably upgrade to an S3 DMF and performance clutch in time to come!

Nice One. I think the S3 clutch is different as its quattro and yours is 4wd.

You will need a fwd clutch kit from a GTI/Cupra/VRS
