Why do you want it removed?

You can switch back to stock settings using an SPS or SPS+.  Failing that just go back to your tuner and they can either put the map back to stock setting or completely remove the sw if you want.

When a main dealer flashes your car (i.e. VW dealer) they compeltely re-write the ECU so I am surprised they could not flash yours.

im pretty surprised they couldnt do it.

im almost certain they would have come to the first hurdle and given up with a "computer says no scenario"

Alternatively why not take it to the Revo dealer that installed it for you?

they said that it was something to do with the revision of original software i had. I have the full print out where it goes thru checking the system.. he said just by looking at it there was no way to tell wether it was mapped or not.. never knew my tuner could replace the map.. does that mean then it will go back to original vw map..

Was told an ecu update at main dealer should standardise your car. Has been known to happen accidentaly

Skoda had no problems updating my ECU exactly 3 hours after I had Revo stage 2 loaded.  :sad1:

i think if your car has the current sofware version installed in the car ( mapped or not ) vw cannot overwrite the file .
be better off taking it back to the revo dealer

That's correct, so far as I know the VAS system will check the car Chassis number and ECU revision.  If the criteria for update aren't met the computer says no.

I believe even if all criteria are met it is possible to force an update but that involves a connection to the factory and lots of questions.

the reason they couldn't do it is because your car isn't due an update..... therefore their tools will not flash your car.

VAS will only flash an ECU which needs an update.

I had Revo on my old S3 and didn't like it, so a friendly Revo dealer re-flashed me back to stock for free

There are lots of reasond he might want it removed. For example, when I had it, I wanted a remap by another company and they couldn't/wouldn't touch it with the Revo software on it. Switching it with the SPS only reverts to stock power, NOT stock software. There's a diference

You misinterpreted my post, at no point did I say it reverts back to the stock VW map.  Read again
