Cam cover sealant
«

Hello,
I've seen that I need to use D154 103 A1 sealant for the cam cover ladder, but is there a loctite or hylomar alternative?
I've had a really good look and one person suggested hylomar blue but I wanted to be sure.
Cheers
Tom

I would only use the OEM green stuff that you mention.

Wurth Green flange sealant WU0893573050 is a good alternative and roughly half the price.
Don't even think about using £5 sealants from Halfords. Use the proper stuff or don't do the job until you've saved up for it.
Ask on the TFSI tuning group too. There must be loads of bottles of this stuff kicking about from cam jobs that's going spare.

I wanted to use an equivalent sealant that was as good or the same as standard so thanks for the advice. After my third look I've found the TFSI group and just sent a join request! Thanks!

That's the thing, most things aren't as good as OE, but some detective work can often lead you to the path of the OE manufacturer
I'm sure someone on there will sell you the remains of their bottle for a tenner! That's assuming you don't need an entire bottle to do a cam cradle job.
