Wishbone/ arms quick question
« on: May 08, 2017, 07:59:49 pm »
right I've done a lot of googling around and seen everything apart from what I wanted (big surprise there...)

here's the issue, I happen to work for Polybush, and they're trying a new set of bushes for the Mk5 GTI and asked if I was willing to test them on mine, which I accepted, however, I found out last week while changing a CV joint that my wishbones are corroded to death! so I'm getting a new pair of arms to take the new bushes but I was asked if mine are cast or pressed?!

does anyone know what they are or how to tell?

thanks in advance

Cast steel.  Shame as I chucked a pair out recently

They are cast as factory.
However in terms of fitting then it makes no difference - EG the alloy arms take the same bushes.

right, I get it, looking at the state of mine I started to guess they were pressed steel, I shall let the boss know and I'll let you all know how I get on with the new bushes.
thanks guys
