Stuck bonnet catch - Correct part number
« on: April 25, 2017, 01:20:08 pm »
Does it matter whether I get a 1K1823509E instead of the T? Car is a 2006 BWA Jetta with the bonnet currently unable to close properly

Called VW and they want £55 for the T version, but there's plenty of E versions online for less than half that.

Anyone know what the difference is between them?

An E lasted 10 years, so why not just get another one of those?

Just get a new one. I had to a few weeks ago.

Make sure you test the catch with the grill off first incase the cable pops off the hook.

Don't miss that step.  :phew:

I've just whipped the old one off and conveniently the final letter has rubbed off!

Guess I'll get an E and report back.
