best polish for red paint
AJP:
I use Autoglym SRP followed by Autoglym HD Wax on my Tornado GTI. It's a great combo.

Will this be done by hand or machine? How long you planning to spend on it?
Be careful using autoglym SRP as it has a lot of fillers which "hide" marks in the paint but after a few washes they wash out and the car can look very swirly/dull again.
Something like Meguiar's 205 has about the same, if not slightly more, cut and has no fillers so you will have a more true finish.
I always liked collinite 915 wax, it gives a lovely finish and great beading. Having said that I usually use Gtechniq C2v3 which sprays on and wipes off, it takes a fraction of the time compared to waxing, gives a lovely glossy finish, the beading is better and lasts longer.

Also, why are you polishing?
A polish is abrasive - you'll be removing some precious lacquer. So you want to use the least aggressive polish you can get away with.
I've used menzerna and meguairs polishes - both good. If you want to remove swirls in a single stage, this stuff is great:

If you are ever going to reinvest or invest in a machine polisher I recommend a Rupes polisher the LHR12E is the best sized one, then try their compound/polish they're the best once you get the hang of using them

My fave is Pinnacle Souveran. I like using carnauba wax since it provides a nice shine and warm depth to the paint.
