What to buy?
« on: May 12, 2017, 01:58:13 pm »
So I've finished sorting all the niggles on my car now. And have £100 to spend on something. My cars standard at the mo, what I'm thinking

1. New Front speakers, the standard ones are horrible to listen too.
2. DV+
3. DogBone Insert and Panel Filter

I'm planning on getting all these thing in due course, just can't decide what to go for first!

Speakers would be last on my list.   Panel filters do nothing, so you can save some money there.  DV+ and dogbone  :happy2:

Agree with @Pudding re DV+

Re the speakers: IIRC the Ed30 ones are in fact quite good; it's just the stereo and its amp, which are both sh1t. Do some research on the RCD 330G Plus, which you can buy from China via Alibaba, as it would essentially upgrade your system and speakers for a little over £100. This is assuming that you still have the standard stereo.

Thanks, I've got a Pumpkin Android Headunit in there now, which was a slight improvement over the MDF2 I had. The £60 headunit and standard speakers in my wife W reg Beetle sound better.

I mainly listen to fast rock and punk music and at times the sound is just nasty.

My fishing trip got cancelled so had an extra £50 to spend.

I've ordered the DV+ and ECS Dogbone insert :)

LED interior lights were a nice cheap mod that really freshened up my interior, Stubby aerial, smoked indicators and LED number plate lights can be nice cheap mods for the outside too.

Chris
It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Thanks Chris. Yeh the interior LEDs are a good idea, I'll do that at some point. I don't think I'll do the number plate lights, I'll never see them and want to keep the look of the car as OEM as possible on the outside.
