EBC pads can't fit retaining spring.

I've just fitted EBC redstuff pads to the front of my vrs which has the s3 345mm fitted.

The new EBC pads don't have the wee clip on the front pad which the retaining spring fits into. Has anyone found this issue before and is there a way to fit the retaining spring?

It looks odd without the spring and the pads are rattling.
