Stereo Issues
« on: May 30, 2017, 05:01:12 pm »
Hi all.
Me and the wife have just bought a Pirelli GTI in the last 2 weeks.

Whilst driving it we have noticed that the stereo sometimes switches itself off. One of the previous owners has obviously had some modifications done, due to the following observations

1. Stereo doesn't switch off with ignition
2. DVD plays even when the car is on the move
3. A parrot has been installed although it should have bluetooth
4. Steering wheel controls don't work, e.g. volume.

Could anyone please advise me on what I need to get done to get it back to OEM. Im not bothered by DVD on the move as we prefer music in the car. Also, where would be a good place to get it done without paying the earth. We live in Aldershot, Hampshire.

Cheers :happy2:

What stereo is in it atm?
If aftermarket I would suggest going back standard..
RCD 510 or RNS 510.

Take your car to the nearest radio installer/coder and get them to fiugre out the MFSW issue and power off problem.
I wont cost much to fix I'd imagine.

Enjoy the car.. theyre awesome!  :happy2:
