MK5 GTI sensors
« on: May 30, 2017, 02:24:24 pm »
My golf was off the road for some time and developed some sensor issues. ABS, traction, steering angle sensor and handbrake lights are all on and won't go off. Had the car scanned today and the 3 following codes appeared..

Right rear wheel abs speed sensor-g44- implausible signal
Left rear wheel abs speed sensor -g46- implausible signal
Right rear wheel abs speed sensor-g44- mechanical malfunction

According to the mechanic I need 2 rear abs sensors on either side & a full wheel bearing unit on right side to sort the mechanical malfunction as he thinks it's the ring inside the bearing? This sound fairly accurate?

You probably find it's the pickup ring on the bearings instead of the actual sensors mate if it was ok before it was stood

Is the pick up ring available to buy without the whole hub? Car was perfect before parked up with no codes at all.

I didn't think you could buy them separate but I just checked good old eBay and there's one peron selling them. Read the description tho coz it looks like there's a few different sizes. I would personally change the whole bearing but that's up to u
