G'day to all from Tasmania, Australia!
I happened upon this forum in my search for suspension modifications - and what a find. This is definitely the best source of information relating to Mk5 GTIs I've seen.
About me: 59 y/o male. My first car was a '72 Superbug, which was eventually traded on a Mk1 Golf GLS in 1977. Then came a multitude of cars including (in no particular order) many Toyotas, a FIAT 131 Superbrava, a Datsun 120Y (!!!), numerous Subaru Libertys and an Alfa 147. I've had my current car - a 2007 (MY'08) tornado red 5dr Golf GTI in manual which currently sits on 98xxxkms (~60,000 miles) - now for nearly 10 years.
At the moment I'm tossing up whether to keep or sell. TBH the jiggly ride has bugged me from day one when I drove out of the dealer's driveway. So I'm researching suspension modifications before making any decision. Otherwise I love my GTI and 10 years is by far the longest I've ever kept a car. Usually I'm getting itchy feet around the 2-3 year mark.
Cheers
Steven

Welcome along Steven :happy2:
Did anyone else read the entire post in an Australian accent after the G'day in the intro? :signLOL:
I don't personally find the suspension a problem but I have great roads all around me, if I do take the road less traveled at any point however the entire thing goes to sh*te and I feel like a coil is going to pop right through the wing.
Typically the info you'll find here is for performance related suspension but there's plenty of people that can help you out I'm sure!
