recommended tyres?

my golf gti is running stage 2+ running 281bhp and 423nm and i am looking for a good tyre that can coup with it as well as longer lasting, i currently have verdastines and they can no cope they have chuncks out the tread, like it cant keep the grip

was wondering is anyone car recommend a tyre,
have been looking at these

They are cheap for a reason mate, no offence if it's only what's in your budget but I recommend Eagle F1 asymmetric 2/3 although others will say SP4

I have two Eagle F1's on the front and another two on order and using continental sport contact 2 on rear as temp tyres and still grippy as they were tested to the limits last week!!!

Been a fan of F1's for years now and wouldn't change them for the price they go for and unlike the SP3/4 they don't wear out as quick around the edges!!!

+1 on the eagle f1 I got them on my eddy and for the price there a good tyre

All depends on budget and your priorities i.e. whether you want the best all round tyre, or the best within a certain budget.... Eagles are great for the price.... The PS4 is better but you pay more for it....

You pays your money and takes your choice.....

F1s aren't bad when new, but they and other cheaper tyres 'go off' quickly.  The more expensive tyres resist the hardening caused by constant hot/cold cycling.  It's the same thing that causes all the plastics and rubbers in the engine bay to become brittle over time.

Anyway, PS4s, amazing tyres.  Had F1s on previously and they were very easy to find the understeer limits on, but the PS4s need pushing VERY hard to understeer.

I keep hearing good things about the Yokohama AD08R, so another option to look at.

I am using Toyo Proxes T1-Sport and I am very happy with it. I also like the enhanced look that it gives to the car.

@rich83 has these and they're apparently a bit hairy in the wet, but brilliant in the dry.

I can't fault the good old PS4 as an all-rounder.

Ah OK.  I thought they were a road tyre, not a Toyo R888 equivalent.  Yeah, the R888s were bloody noisy on the road, but not as bad in the wet as I was expecting.  I don't want anything like that for a road car again, so PS4S next I think!

Ad08R are great, almost a perfect tyre IMO. Not brilliant when its really wet but they have never put me in a dangerous situation, and shouldnt do unless you drive like a dick in the rain
